Hapuna beach state park closed pending waterline repairs

KAILUA-KONA – Dept. of Land and Natural Resources closed the Hapuna Beach State Park this morning, due to a significant waterline break in the parking area/roadway. The flowing water has caused some damage to the road.

James Ishii General Contractors was contacted to assess the problem and make needed repairs.

“We are hoping that repairs will be completed today and the park will reopen by tomorrow,” said DLNR Chairperson Peter Young.
