KAHULUI – The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) invites the public to attend an information meeting about its Kihei boat ramp improvement project, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at the Maalaea Seaflight building, 101 Maalaea Boat Harbor Road. DLNR’s project contractor, American Marine, will present the most current information with boaters about the planned maintenance dredging of the boat ramp basin. “These improvements are part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration’s ongoing efforts to upgrade our state small boat harbors and to ensure accessibility, safety, and comfort of all residents and visitors who use the boating facilities,” said DLNR interim chairperson Allan Smith. Any person requiring special assistance (i.e. large print material, sign language interpreters etc.) is asked to contact acting Maui Boating Division district manager Wesley Choi at (808) 216-5571 or Maalaea harbor agent Nicholas Giaconi at (808) 243-5073.
