Hawaii's CWCS Needs You!

Thanks to everyone involved, DLNR was able to successfully complete the final draft of Hawaii's CWCS for U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service submittal by October 1st, 2005. However, the work does not end here. DLNR, by working together with others, will begin the process of implementing as well as continuing to develop through adaptive management Hawaii's CWCS.

Developing and implementing Hawaii's Comprehensive Wildlife Conservation Strategy is an opportunity to shape the direction of current and future wildlife conservation efforts. Your experience, expertise, and ideas are critical in this process. There are several ways you can contribute:

  1. By providing information on Hawaii's Species of Greatest Conservation Need;
  2. By identifying opportunities and resources for conservation action;
  3. By staying informed on the process.
If you are interested in any of the above opportunities, please contact wildlife.strategy@hawaii.gov . We welcome your feedback and interest as we work toward safeguarding the future of Hawaii's wildlife for generations to come. Alternatively, you can contact us via phone, fax, or regular postal mail here.
