* For specific legal hunting instruments, see section 13-123-22 (b) pertaining to huntin wieht dogs or section 13-123-22 (c) pertaining to hunting without dogs.
** Dogs must be kept under control at all times except when actually hunting.

UNIT A
Mauna Kea Game Management Area (GMA) Wild pigs Rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun, bow and arrow.Dogs not permitted.* One pig per hunter per season. Special seasons*** Daily*** Open to pig hunters with valid tags.Only primitive weapons allowed during muzzleloader season.
Wild sheep and wild goats Rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun, bow and arrow.Dogs not permitted.* No bag limit. Year-round Evidence of sex and species waived for sheep and goats.
UNIT B
Kohala, Olaa, Kau, Hilo, Manowaialee, Hamakua, Waiakea, Kapapala, South Kona Upper Waiakea, Honuaula Forest Reserves (F.R.) Unencumbered portions of Manuka, Kaulanamauna and Kipahoehoe.

Wild pigs, wild sheep,  and wild goats““

Rifle, muzzleloader, shotgun, handgun, bow and arrows, spears and knives. Dogs permitted.**

Two pigs,  one goat, and one sheep per hunter per day. No season limit.““

No access to Humuula Section of the Hilo Forest Reserve from Keanakolu Road.   
Upper Waiakea Forest Reserve between Tree Planting and Powerline Roads. Rifle, muzzleloader, shotgun, hand gun, bow and arrow, spears and knives.  Dogs permitted* July through December. (Upper Waiakea only) Hunting allowed with dogs in Upper Waiakea Forest Reserve between Tree Planting and Powerline Roads.  No dogs allowed on Powerline Road. No vehicle access on Mauna Loa and Powerline Roads.
Upper Waiakea Forest Reserve between Tree Planting Road and Powerline Road.  Rifle, muzzleloader, shotgun, handgun and bow and arrows.  Dogs not permitted. January  through June. (Upper Waiakea only) Hunting allowed without dogs in Upper Waiakea Forest Reserve between Tree Planting Road and Powerline Road.  No dogs allowed on Tree Planting Road. No vehicle access on Mauna  Loa, Powerline and Tree Planting Roads.
UNIT C
Upper parts of Laupahoehoe and Piha Sections Wild pigs and wild sheep Rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun, bow and arrow.Dogs not permitted.* Two pigs and one sheep per hunter per day. No season limit. Year-round Saturday, Sunday and State Holidays. Phone-in reservation required from the Division of Forestry  and Wildlife in Hilo. 
UNIT D
Keohana Forest Reserve, Hilo, Haao Spring & a portion of Kohala Closed Watersheds Wild pigs, wild sheep and wild goats Rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun spears, knives, bow and arrow. Dogs permitted** Two pigs, one goat and one sheep per hunter per day.No season limit. Year-round Saturday, Sunday and State Holidays.  
UNIT E
Pohakuloa Game Management Area(GMA), Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) and portions of Mauna Loa GMA Wild pigs, wild sheep and wild goats Archery only. Dogs not permitted.* One pig, one goat and one sheep per hunter per day. Year-round Saturday, Sunday and State Holidays in Mauna Loa and Pohakuloa GMAs.Daily in PTA only. Entry permit to PTA Unit E required from PTA Commander.Pohakuloa GMA and PTA subject to military training schedule.
Puu Anahulu, One pig, one male sheep, and one male goat per hunter per day. March through June Saturday, Sunday, and State Holidays. Tags required at Puu Anahulu***
Kipuka Ainahou One pig, one goat and one sheep per hunter per day. March through October
UNIT F
Area 21 and Redleg Portion of PTA. Animals hunted, bag limits and other hunting conditions set by PTA Commander.
UNIT G
Kaohe Horse Pasture GMA. Wild pigs Archery  only.Dogs not permitted.* One pig per hunter per day.No season limits. Year-round Daily*** Archers must check in and out at Kilohana  and Puu Huluhulu Checking Stations.
Wild goats and wild sheep No bag limit.
UNIT H
Kulani Buffer Zone Wild pigs and wild goats Rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun, bow and arrows, spears and knives.Dogs permitted.** Two pigs and one goat per day.No season limit. July through December Saturday, Sunday, and  State Holidays. Entry permit or phone-in reservation required from Division of Forestry and Wildlife.
Rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun, bow and arrows.Dogs not permitted.* January  through June Hunters shall check out at the checking station before 4:30 PM. No access via Mauna Loa Road.
UNIT I
Kalopa, Honokaia, Nanawale and MalamaKi Forest Reserves Wild pigs and wild goats Bows and arrows or spears and knives only. Dogs permitted ** Two pigs and one goat per hunter per day.No season limit. Year-round Saturday, Sunday and State Holidays.  
UNIT J
Cooperative Game Management Areas and Designated Sanctuaries Wild pigs, wild goats and wild sheep To be determined in special hunts. To be determined in  special hunts. To be determined in special hunts. To be determined in special hunts. Tags may be required
UNIT K
Natural Area Reserves: Puu O Umi, Waiakea, 1942 Lava Flow, Kahaualea, Kipahoehoe, Laupahoehoe, Manuka, Mauna Kea Ice Age and Puu Makala Wild pigs, wild goats and wild sheep Rifle, muzzleloader, handgun, shotgun, spear, knife or  bow and arrows. Dogs permitted.** Two pigs, one goat and one sheep per hunter per day. Year-round Daily Mauna Kea Ice Age Natural Area Reserve Only - Follow Hunting Unit A requirements.
