following organizations or individuals are private consultants and
are not directly associated with the State Historic Preservation
Division, nor is listing to be construed as any guarantee of the
quality of work.
Project costs may vary considerably between companies. It is recommended that more than one estimate be obtained. It is also recommended that any contract contain language that specifies that a report meeting DLNR minimum standards will be provided as a product.
All of the following organizations have an approved permit for
conducting archaeological activities in the State of Hawai`i (see
Chapter 13-282 Hawaii Administrative Rules). All of the above
organizations have on their staff, and often hire on a part-time
basis, persons meeting the minimum standards for professional
archaeologists set by the National Park Service (see 36 CFR Part 61
at
http://www.cr.nps.gov/local-law/arch_stnds_9.htm
and Chapter 13-281 Hawaii Administrative Rules). All of the following
have indicated to the State Historic Preservation Officer that they
are engaged in contract archaeological work.
