 ARCHAEOLOGICAL CONSULTANTS
IN THE STATE OF HAWAI`I

Project costs may vary considerably between companies. It is recommended that more than one estimate be obtained. It is also recommended that any contract contain language that specifies that a report meeting DLNR minimum standards will be provided as a product.

All of the following organizations have an approved permit for conducting archaeological activities in the State of Hawai`i (see Chapter 13-282 Hawaii Administrative Rules). All of the above organizations have on their staff, and often hire on a part-time basis, persons meeting the minimum standards for professional archaeologists set by the National Park Service (see 36 CFR Part 61 at blue ball graphic, link tohttp://www.cr.nps.gov/local-law/arch_stnds_9.htm and Chapter 13-281 Hawaii Administrative Rules). All of the following have indicated to the State Historic Preservation Officer that they are engaged in contract archaeological work.
