Community & Youth Outreach Program

Current community and youth outreach special project partners are the Hawai`i Youth Symphony (Music in the Clubhouse) and Na`alehu Theatre (Hawaiian Arts Youth Outreach), which provide out-of-school arts to children and youth. Music in the Clubhouse brings general music education to ages 5-7 and 8-10 through the Boys & Girls Spalding Clubhouse in an after-school program. The children perform in a public recital later in the year to showcase what they have learned. Hawaiian Arts Youth Outreach serves the Big Island with a roster of cultural artists who teach ukulele, steel guitar, hula and Native Hawaiian crafts.
